Sonisphere 2011

The Sonisphere worldwide festival series – which this year takes in Greece, India and Italy – hit UK shores with a weekend of guitar legends, comedy and spoken word from renowned mega-venue Knebworth House in Hertfordshire.

We bring you highlights from Sonisphere where “the big four” – Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax – played together for the first time in the UK.

Also taking to the main Apollo stage is Slipknot, plus there’s a chance to catch rock legends Motorhead, and also Mastodon, In Flames, Parkway Drive and Diamond Head.

Sonisphere’s other main stage, Saturn, boast sets from Sum 41, comedian Bill Bailey and The Mars Volta.
